Cold messages get ignored. Everywhere.
Here, you can talk directly with a verified professional in your field, 1:1.
AI made your application easy. But it made you invisible.
A real conversation is how you stand out.
An algorithm collects the data; only an insider knows what actually works. A sharper AI prompt won't break the tie, but one conversation with a verified professional will create your human edge: an honest read on the world outside and an honest read on yourself.
The field as it actually is: industry trends, differences between companies and positions, and the skills employers demand.
The outside world, from someone who works in it.
A mirror held up by a professional who has been where you are.
Their honest feedback shows who you really are, and the potential you can't yet see.
The wrong first job costs you years.
The right conversation costs you an hour.
After each 1:1, a structured report captures an experienced professional's honest, objective read on you, turning years of industry experience into three takeaways:
Every STEM student has blind spots. Industry professionals see what you can't.
Solid grasp of semiconductor process fundamentals; communicates technical trade-offs clearly and concisely.
Resume under-sells impact: quantify yield and cycle-time gains, not just tools. Strengthen statistical process control and design-of-experiments, and take on a defect-analysis project to prove it.
Strongest fit: process and integration roles at semiconductor fabs. Larger fabs offer structured training; smaller shops give broader ownership sooner. On visa: favor employers with an OPT-to-H-1B record.
Rewrite your top project as a process-improvement story with numbers, target three fabs hiring this fall, and book a mock-interview 1:1 two weeks before applications open.
Recruiting season is underway.
Get mentored before you stand in front of recruiters.
Unlike a connection request, every booking is a real conversation: your mentor reads your profile and prepares for your questions before each 1:1. You gain Industry Truth and your Professional Mirror. Browse the Mentor Directory, filter to the right fit, and book.

Not AI truth, not textbook truth,
but Industry Truth
will guide you to the right career path.
Whether you're searching for direction, navigating the best-fit path, or sharing hard-won wisdom, this is for you.
Getting on the right path takes more than a strong application; it takes a map.
Professionals who've been there draw it for you:
the Industry Truth and an honest read on yourself,
so you can skip the detours that cost years.
Your experience is more than a track record; it's the map you wish you'd had. Steering students clear of detours that cost you years brings a pride your day job rarely offers: watching someone get on the right path because of you.
AI made applying effortless, and applicants identical. The only edge left is a professional who's done the job, knows how HR screens and how hiring managers choose, and has seen why some candidates get the offer while others never hear back. Shared with students before they apply, this insider knowledge can be the difference between a rejection and an offer. That's why we built TorchLink.
Dr. Gao holds a Ph.D. in Workforce Education & Development from Penn State, plus an M.B.A. and a B.S. in Chemistry. Her path runs from teaching college classrooms to shaping the heart of corporate talent: over a decade at Corning, AGCO, and Motorola, she led Talent Management and Leadership Development for Asia-Pacific, building talent pipelines through succession planning to support business strategies. In the years since, as an educational consultant, she has guided students into their dream schools, from the Ivy League to Stanford, Caltech, Northwestern, JHU, Rice, Michigan, Georgia Tech, UCLA, NYU, and more.
As a career coach for MBA students, she has helped them find their path, target rising industries that fit their backgrounds, and choose the critical positions that build toward future leadership. Few people have sat on both sides of the career equation the way she has, shaping how companies grow talent and helping individuals see themselves clearly and find where they truly fit.
Dr. Gao built TorchLink from her own story: she entered the 2010 recession as a highly credentialed international student, yet in that market credentials alone weren't enough to open the door. But referrals were. Her former boss from a 2007 SHRM internship in Washington, D.C. referred her to one company after another, until one led to a training-consultant role at AGCO's North America headquarters in Atlanta. That human help is what TorchLink now gives every student by design, not by luck.
Chris's 25-year career has unfolded in three chapters. For two decades he held senior leadership roles at Fortune 500 companies, serving as VP of Quality across North America and Asia-Pacific before taking charge of global quality. He then became Head of Quality at Anduril Industries, one of the most prominent startups in the U.S. Today, as a Senior Director at Valor Equity Partners, he advises fast-growing startups across Silicon Valley, Austin, New York, and Los Angeles.
Chris also helps shape the field itself. As a voting member of the U.S. Technical Advisory Groups to ISO/TC 176 and ISO/PC 302, he helps review and revise ISO 9001 and ISO 19011, the global standards for quality management and auditing that companies worldwide are measured against. He has also held leadership roles in the American Society for Quality (ASQ), including Education Chair of its Phoenix Section and International Membership Chair of its Automotive Division.
That range, from global corporations to the frontier of the startup world, is exactly the perspective young people rarely get to learn from. At TorchLink he leads product and platform, turning years of building teams, and seeing who rises and why, into guidance that helps students build a successful career before they even start.
AI isn't erasing entry-level jobs so much as raising the bar: employers now want graduates who can direct and refine AI's output, not just perform the routine work it automates.
